Welcome to the
Springvale Library FamilySearch Center!
The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has certified Springvale Public
Library as a FamilySearch Center. This allows researchers to
request microfilm and microfiche materials from the Family History
Center of the Mormon Church which has an extensive library of genealogy
research materials. All film and fiche ordering is now done
online by the person requesting the item. Films and fiche are
sent to the Springvale Library to be used in house.
- Create an account
or log in at familysearch.org
- Make sure that
you have chosen Springvale Library as your default Family History
Center.
- Search for
microfilm or fiche on the Family
History
Library
Catalog
- Check the "View
Film" record to see if there are any restrictions
- When you have
found the correct item, order it and pay either by credit card or
Paypal.
- FamilySearch will
email you when the film is ready for you to use at the Springvale
Library. You must have an email address to complete the order.
- Priority is given
to the person who orders the film but film may be used by anyone while
it is on loan and information about films that are currently in-house
will be posted.
- If you need to
use the film longer, sign in to your account to renew the item.
- The Springvale
Library will send the film back so it will arrive at the Family History
Library in Salt Lake City, Utah by its due date.
- Microfilm and
fiche materials borrowed from the Family History Center are fully
copyrighted and copyright law restricting their use applies to
researchers
