Reinventing Onself After A Brain Injury ~ On Display in the Library Gallery
flower burst

Reinventing Oneself After A Brain Injury by artist and writer Hilary Zayed is one of several multi-media exhibits of eclectic art utilizing the colors that evoke a sense of well being and writings that touch a common chord of human experience.  This piece of the exhibit is part two of the Reinventing Oneself Exhibit. Part One of the Exhibit has been shown at New England Rehab. Hospital in Portland along with several insurance company offices in a few states, twice at Merrill Auditorium, the Sanford Springvale Art Gallery, Goodall Library and currently at Springvale Public Library in Sanford/Springvale Maine.  Life dramatically changed for Hilary as she was an elementary school teacher, musician and avid horseback rider until April 2006 when her life dramatically changed and she had to reinvent herself. "The saying of one door closes and another opens can be daunting when you don't know which door to open or how to open it."Hilary was born in New York State and had the opportunity to live in Arizona, Tennessee, and Massachusetts. She finds her home in Maine for the last 26 years to be the place of her heart and feels blessed to finally live on a lake in Sanford, Maine.

The exhibit may be viewed in the Community Room during July and August anytime the library is open
