The researchable electronic copies of the Springvale Advocate and the Sanford Tribune were made possible by a gift from the descendants of James Preston and his wife Elizabeth Dufresne in recognition to the Town of Sanford and Village of Springvale for their provision of his burial expenses in 1902 and subsequent aid to his family in their need, and also in memory of his son Jerry Preston, former Deputy York County Sheriff (Springvale) and his wife Elise Guillemette.
