We are so thrilled to offer contactless curbside services beginning Monday, June 1 with services Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Curbside pick up will be on MAIN STREET. If you’re having someone else pick up your items, please make sure you let us know. We encourage you to sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date with happenings.

You are welcome to choose 10 items per curbside pickup. Add a surprise Wild Card book or a children’s picture book stack for fun. You may also request DVDs, audiobooks, or puzzles.

When you know what you’d like, contact the library to make sure that we have the item, or check the online catalog https://mils.maine.edu/search~s24 . We will begin ILL services on June 9 th. When you call to request items, you will be asked which day you would like to pick up and to choose a 30-minute time slot to reduce the amount of time you may need to wait. Please tell us the make and color of your vehicle.
What To Expect When You Pick Up
In order to assure a safe experience for you and for our staff, we will bag your items in a paper bag and put your first name on it. When we gather your items, staff will be masked, and gloved. The items you receive will have a 5 day quarantine period before they are bagged.
Contactless Pick Up
We will keep an eye out for you during your pick up slot. To ensure prompt pick up, please call us when you arrive at the library. If you are unable to do so, please call before you leave.
When you get here, please stay in your car until we bring your bag out. Staff will approach the table gloved, and masked, and will set your bag down. They will back up 6 feet. Once they are back, you may approach the table.
The book return is now open 24 hours. We are unable to accept returns at curbside but you are welcome to return your items in the book drop at the rear of the building. These items will then be quarantined for 5 days before they return to circulation.If it’s raining, you can still pick up holds. We’ll have a pop-up tent over the table.
We will keep your items on the hold shelf for 7 days before the hold expires. After 7 days, you’d need to request the items again.
Summer Reading Program
Adult/Teen and Children’s Summer Reading Program begins June 15th.
Children’s Summer Reading Program: call or email to register and then you can pick up the folder at curbside and check out a stack of books.
Teen Summer Reading Program: Call or email to register and get your bingo card. You are entered into the raffle and for a chance to win a book of your choice.
Adult Summer Reading Program: Want to do the Adult Summer Reading Program? Call, or email us and you can either pick up your bingo card curbside or can we email you the bingo card! There will be weekly prizes and a special prize for the finalist!

Summer Music Series
We are so lucky to kick off our summer music series, sponsored by the Sanford-Springvale Chamber of Commerce and corporate sponsor Partners Bank, beginning with world-renowned Celtic fiddler Katherine Moller. She will be joining us on Facebook Live on Thursday, June 11 at 6:00 pm. Check her out on her website, www.katherinemoller.ca .
The following week, Thursday June 18th, Zac Stearn, Artistic Director of the Schoolhouse Arts Center in Standish (www.schoolhousearts.org) will play piano and sing virtually to us as well! Stay tuned for future announcements about our Summer Music Series!
